Senior Vice President of Business Development

Joe EscobedoJoe is a 20-year veteran of transportation management.  He joined MV in 2008 and has served as Director, Vice President ,and Senior Vice President of MV’s business development function in the western U.S.—securing some of the company’s largest paratransit, fixed route, and shuttle contracts.   Joe draws from his extensive operations experience to create an effective sales strategy for his team’s technical and pricing responses to requests for proposals, including recruiting qualified staff, performing research and financial analysis, and identifying and addressing client needs.  

Prior to this role, Joe was the operations support center director for Greyhound Lines, Inc., in Dallas, Texas.  He was responsible for the overall function of this operation, which encompassed the company’s largest management team, 2,300 operators, and received 950,000 inbound calls a year, 24/7.  Joe oversaw the professional development and training of all employees, 2,100 daily schedules, and bus assignments.  He was a member of the company’s negotiating committee with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1700, was a chairperson for the emergency operations center, and worked with the Department of Defense to accommodate political conventions and to provide emergency evacuation for Senate and House of Representatives personnel.

From 1992 to 2000 he held several roles with Greyhound to include operational responsibilities for operations in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Austin. He also served as senior training manager overseeing the recruitment and professional development for motor coach operators along with terminal and package express employees, and oversaw 11 district training managers and 110 terminal trainers located throughout the U.S.  Joe also served as a special project manager where he assisted in the development and implementation of Greyhound’s first computerized labor staffing and projection software, saving the company $4 million dollars in the first year of use.
